Abstract
In this scientific article it is described that the substantiation the need for additional when growing potatoes in the Moscow region to obtain sustainable yields, indicates the unevenness of precipitation in the spring - summer period. The advantages of drip irrigation in comparison with other types of irrigation are given. One of the limiting factors for the widespread use of drip irrigation is the low degree of mechanization during the installation of drip tape. It has been proven that the combination of agro-technical operations will reduce energy consumption and increase work productivity. The water consumption of potatoes in different phases of plant life has been analyzed. The conditions for creating optimal water - air balance of the soil are considered. It is proved that in the initial period of plant development, the need for water is minimal, and the soil during this period, as a rule, is saturated with moisture formed during the process of snow melting. Therefore, it is rational to combine the installation of the drip tape with the operation to form ridges. The design of special equipment for laying the drip tape into the soil has been developed and the technical characteristics of the developed machine are given, the operating speeds and productivity of the machine is determined. The numerical values of the resistance of the drip tape laying have been determined and it has been proved that the installation of the working equipment on the ridge former will not lead to a noticeable increase in the traction resistance. It is recommended a drip tape settings for potato comb. The design of a drip irrigation system for growing potatoes is proposed, a list of the necessary working equipment is given. The water regime of the plant was determined at different stages of development and the irrigation rate and the time intervals between irrigations were corrected.
